IAS Athar Aamir Khan Biography and Career

IAS and engineer Athar Amir-ul-Shafi Khan. He is the Commissioner of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation as well as the CEO of Srinagar Smart City Ltd. IAS Athar Aamir Khan was born on September 5, 1992, in Devipora-Mattan village, Anantnag district, South Kashmir, to a Muslim family. His father, Mohammad Shafi Khan, is a teacher at the Government Higher Secondary School in Anantnag, where he teaches economics, while his mother, Tahira Khan, is a housewife. He has two younger sisters as well as a younger brother.

IAS Athar Aamir Khan graduated from Srinagar’s Tyndale Biscoe School with a Higher Secondary diploma. Following his education, he completed his undergraduate studies at the Indian Institute of Technology in Mandi, earning a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. During this period, he made the decision to take the civil service exam.

He passed the exam and was accepted into the Indian Railway Traffic Service in 2015. (IRTS). In 2016, he was appointed to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) after achieving All India Rank 2 in his second attempt.

Career

IAS Athar Aamir Khan was appointed to the civil service in 2016. Because there were no vacancies in Jammu and Kashmir, he joined the Rajasthan cadre. His proposal for a three-year inter-cadre deputation to Jammu and Kashmir was granted by the Cabinet Appointments Committee.

Khan was appointed Commissioner of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation on March 1, 2021. He also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Srinagar Smart City Ltd.

IAS Athar Aamir and Tina Dabi were married in court in Jaipur in March 2018 by district collector Siddharth Maharajan.

They filed for divorce in November 2020 in Jaipur family court, and the divorce was finalised in August 2021 by family court No. 1 in Jaipur under Section 28 of the Special Marriage Act, 1954.

Life Story

Devipora hamlet in South Kashmir celebrated a 23-year-stunning old’s achievement in the civil services test on Tuesday. After the results were announced, Athar Aamir ul Shafi Khan was ranked second in the merit list. With this victory, he became the first person to pass the exam twice in a row, while also boosting his position from 560 last year to second this year.

Athar’s father, Mohammad Shafi Khan, in Devipora, believed that his son’s accomplishment would encourage other Valley youths.

“My kid is the village’s and our family’s first IAS officer. I hope he will serve as an inspiration to other pupils in the neighbourhood,” said Mohammad Shafi, an economics teacher at Anantnag’s Government Higher Secondary School.
